Who am I ?
My name is Hao Wang in English and 汪浩 in Chinese. I am an engineer turned Chief Information Officer (CIO) and a professor. Currently, I am the CIO of the State University of New York (SUNY). I am also the Vice President and CIO for the Research Foundation for SUNY. Additionally, I practice healthcare informatics and advanced analytics, developing a course on Electronic Medical Records and writing a book about how informatics and health information technology affect health care outcome. On the side, I practice enterprise architecture, IT governance, and health information exchange (HIE) and advise my clients on strategy, which, in other words, is a productive way of thinking.
I am proud of being a joint product of China and United States. Lived and raised in China, I subscribe to Confucius heritage and the pursuit of harmony. Educated and trained in the U.S., I have a fairly balanced view of the world.
